The ANU College of Asia and the Pacific, School of Culture, History and Language is proud to announce the extension of its partnership with Open Universities Australia (OUA) in the delivery of less-commonly-taught Asian and Pacific Languages, and the new ANU commitment of $11.6M over five years to the advancement of the teaching of Asian and Pacific languages.

The languages currently available through OUA are: Tetum, Thai, Tibetan, Vietnamese, Sanskrit, Hindi.

In 2019 and 2020, Mongolian and Tok Pisin respectively will be added to the courses on offer through OUA.

The languages are taught by the The School of Culture, History and Language (CHL) a community of researchers, teachers and students dedicated to investigating and learning with and about the people, languages, and lands of Asia and the Pacific.

The school offers more Asian languages than any other university in Australia.

There will be a cultural performance by the Australia-Thailand Foundation.
