Across the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced both teachers and learners to adopt a remote-based delivery mode. This shift from in-person to remote teaching and learning has been a drastic and new experience for most of us. Teachers have been urged to re-calibrate their pedagogy so that students can gain the full suite of benefits from language education within this new learning environment.

This panel brings together language educators and researchers to share their ideas and experience to develop and implement new remote-based teaching/learning practices.
Speakers from diverse educational environments in Australia, Canada, Finland, Japan, the UK and USA will discuss a variety of practical and theoretical issues including the use of various resources and pedagogical approaches to remote language learning environment. At its core, language education is about communication and connection. Creative use of existing technologies and structures can enable us to achieve this goal beyond the current crisis even when we are physically apart.
