Come and learn about Chinese Lion Dance performance, and West African music from Senegal. You will gain an understanding of Chinese and West African performances and their histories in Australia. The event will feature the Canberra Lion Dance Troupe of Yut Hung Kung Fu Academy, and Senegalese Australian master musician Malamine Sonko. The workshop is supported by the Asia Pacific Innovation Program, ANU College of Asia & the Pacific. This workshop was developed by ANU researchers Dr Tsai Tsan-Huang and Dr Bonnie McConnell as part of the project “Senegambian and Chinese Performers and the Making of Australian Multicultural Heritage.”

This workshop is free to the public.
