CHL research scholar and Associate Director, ANU Myanmar Research Centre, Dr Justine Chambers was recently quoted in ABC News on the Myanmar situation.

Dr Justine Chambers is a lecturer and research scholar in the Department of Anthropology, School of Culture, History & Language at the College of Asia & the Pacific at ANU. She is also Associate Director of the Myanmar Research Centre and the co-convenor of the 2019 Myanmar Update. She is a social-cultural anthropologist whose ethnographic research primarily focuses on Myanmar’s Karen people. Her research interests include understandings of morality and ethics, ethnic conflict, communal violence, land tenure, youth, migration and debt. Justine also holds an MA in Development Studies and spent some years before her PhD working with refugee populations from Myanmar in Thailand and Australia.
