Mainland SE Asia

Mainland Southeast Asia focuses on the south-easternmost mainland region of Asia. It explores the countries of Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Burma (Myanmar), and Singapore. The unit provides undergraduate teaching on both languages (Burmese, Lao, traditional and modern Malay, Thai, and Vietnamese), as well as regional examination of topics such as history, politics, religion, nationalism, and literature.
