Alison is a PhD Candidate in Pacific and Asian History at the School. Her research focuses on eugenic ideology and interethnic marriage in the formal Japanese empire from 1919 to 1945. Her dissertation is tentatively titled, 'Eugenic desires, imperial ambitions: the politics of the marital family in the Japanese empire'.
