Please join us for this special event celebrating the launch of a landmark title.

A World of Resistance, Harvard University Press (2026) will be launched by Professor Ute RoessnerCEO of the Australian Research Council.

Written by ANU Professor Assa Doron and Professor Alex Broom (University of Sydney), A World of Resistance is a sweeping analysis of one of the most daunting public health challenges facing the world today: the global rise of antibiotic resistance, viewed through the lens of India.

The launch will also feature Dr Aditya Balasubramanian facilitating a discussion on the book's themes, the global challenge of antibiotic resistance, and the vital contribution that interdisciplinary research—including the social sciences and humanities—can make to understanding and responding to complex contemporary challenges.

For those interested in reading more before the launch, there is a short extract in Scroll.in and an original essay in Aeon.
