Indonesian Studies

The Southeast Asian region is one of the fast-growing economies in the world. Indonesia plays an increasingly significant role in this region and globally. Indonesia has been, and will always be, a country of high strategic importance not only for Australia but also for other countries. Learning about this country and its culture, history, evolution and language, therefore, means gaining first-hand insight on Indonesia. Such insight is much needed in an increasingly globalised economy, providing the edge in highly competitive job markets in the 21st Asian century.

Indonesian study at the ANU is available from the introductory level to advanced levels in accordance with internationally recognised standards. Indonesian language courses are offered in a hybrid mode as in-person and online courses. Undergraduate courses Indonesian 1, Indonesian 2, Indonesian 3, Indonesian 4, Indonesian 5 and Indonesian 6.
