Theresia Oktarisa

Theresia Lukita Oktarisa is an interdisciplinary researcher from Central Java, Indonesia, whose work spans from the Pleistocene to Holocene period. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Tourism from Satya Wacana Christian University, Indonesia (2020) and a Master's degree in Quaternary and Prehistory from the Università degli Studi di Ferrara, Italy (2023), completed under an Erasmus Mundus Full Scholarship from the European Commission. Theresia has conducted fieldwork at several archaeological sites in Indonesia, Italy, and Georgia, contributing to excavations, documentation, and site conservation. Since 2024, she has served as Expert Staff at RIJANG Research Indonesia in Yogyakarta, focusing on interdisciplinary environmental research, local stakeholder engagement, and conservation in biodiversity-rich areas. Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Jawa, and English, Theresia brings a rare combination of field expertise, cross-cultural communication, and academic rigour to her research — with a sustained commitment to community-centred approaches to heritage and conservation.
