On 28 March 2025 at 12:50:54 MMT (06:20:54 UTC), a magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck central Myanmar. This powerful quake is the strongest to hit Myanmar since 1912. The disaster has tragically claimed over 2,600 lives so far.
In response to this tragedy, the ANU Myanmar Students' Association (ANUMSA) launched an emergency relief campaign. The student association is working with trusted grassroots networks already active on the ground to deliver essential humanitarian aid to those impacted by the earthquake.
The appeal successfully raised over AUD 12,000 which was successfully transferred to five trusted organisations.
All donations will directly fund immediate relief efforts, including the delivery of critical supplies and medical support to vulnerable communities.
